The Chevelle

This is another friends car. I had to convert it from a 4-speed, bucket seat, 454 car.....to an automatic on the column, bench seat, 350 car. His real car had a vinyl top....so i had to fashion one from masking tape. I think the end result came out quite good. The bench seat is a modified '49 Mercury bench seat, the headrests are brass tubing, and the column shifter is made from a paper clip. The color was a real challenge. I painted this car light blue metallic over a black base. It may not look like it in the pictures, but it is a perfect match to the real car. I had to take off ALL the 454 emblems......including the front grille, the rear bumper and off the front fenders. This was my second replica and I think it turned out great. As of this writing.......this car no longer looks this way.....he is currently redoing it in silver i think.....so, you may see an update.....i told him to bring back the model when the real one was done.
